Once you have found your ideal wedding venue there is a huge weight off your shoulders as everything else is planned around the venue. To avoid disappointment you should start looking for and booking your wedding venue at least a year in advance.
Many of the more popular venues are booked two years ahead of the wedding so book as soon as you have made a decision. Wedding locations each have their own set of challenges so don’t base your decision just on location and looks. You have to consider catering, layout, the number of guests you are going to accommodate, travel requirements if it’s out of town, what décor can be used, bar facilities etc.
If you are going for an outdoor wedding venue make sure that you have a backup plan. You can’t hope the weather is going to be alright on your wedding day, a backup indoor wedding venue is certainly advised in this case.
