Gerhard Steenkamp Photography

I started of with photography in 1984, did my first wedding in 1991 and since then did over 400 weddings. I have been a full-time professional photographer since 1996, residing in Bloemfontein, South Africa.

If I can pinpoint one characteristic of my wedding images it is that i make use of telephoto lenses like the Nikon 200mm F2 and the Nikon 300mm F2.8. This produces nice clean uncluttered out of focus backgrounds. Further i prefer the unopposed photos rather than the formal posed type of photos. I also make use of only the best professional cameras available and at the moment using the Nikon D3.

I see a wedding as the bride and the bridegrooms day, and therefore for them to enjoy. The photo sessions makes a big part of the day and I always try my utmost best to make sure they enjoy every moment of it.

I give every bridal couple the assurance that i will do my utmost best to ensure them stylish, elegant and timeless images for life.
