Antenuptial Contracts in South Africa
The antenuptial contract is not the easiest of subjects to approach when you are getting married but it is essential you understand your options and discuss this with your partner, with attorneys and other individuals knowledgeable in this field.

An antenuptial contract is also known as a prenuptial contract or prenup. With the law as it is, it’s not that easy to say “what’s your is mine” and visa versa. You need to evaluate your assets, what it means if you own your own businesses, both your creditors etc.

This type of work requires an outside person who not only has the qualifications but has a non emotional perspective.
If you approach an ante nuptial contract with openness and use the right resources this need not create any tension before the wedding.

Choose an antenuptial attorney or lawyer in South Africa that you are both happy with and don’t take anything for granted. Ask lots and questions and make sure you understand everything in the antenuptial agreement.
